"I finished my 365 Project, in which I took one self portrait a day for one year."
How I did it: I started in February 2008, when I joined the flickr group "365". I then took a photo every day.
As a reward, I wanted to get a DSLR after the completion of this goal.
It is much more than just taking a photo every day. You have to face the world, which can get quite hard on some days.

Lessons & tips: Form or join a group to motivate yourself.
Find your own style - maybe plain portraits, or "telling stories" or both. Use the group's challenges from the discussion section if you run out of ideas for photos.
Upload more regularly than I did. :-D
Resources: I used mainly two cameras, a Panasonic Lumix LX2 and after christmas a Nikon d300. Besides, some photos were taken with my Holga, a mobile phone or with borrowed cameras from friends. Just get creative.
